Our Commitment to Responsible Gambling

At rmc8, we believe that gambling is a legitimate form of entertainment — but only when it remains within your control. The vast majority of our members across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and the rest of Malaysia play responsibly and enjoyably. For the minority who may develop difficulties, we are committed to providing the tools and information that can make a real difference.

Responsible gambling is not a compliance checkbox at rmc8. It is an operational priority backed by real systems: mandatory age verification at registration, deposit limits every member can set independently, session time reminders, and a self-exclusion programme that activates immediately upon request. These tools exist because we genuinely believe that a sustainable platform is one where players remain in control.

This page is designed to help you assess your own relationship with gambling, recognise early warning signs, understand what tools are available to you right now, and know where to turn if the situation becomes something that needs professional support. Reading it is a positive step in itself.

Remember: gambling should never be used to recover financial losses, to cope with emotional stress, or as a primary source of income. If gambling has started to feel like any of those things, the tools and resources on this page are for you.

What Responsible Gambling Looks Like

Responsible gambling does not mean never losing — losses are a normal part of gaming. It means approaching gambling with the right mindset: a fixed budget, a defined time limit, and the ability to walk away when either is reached.

You set a clear spending budget before you start and stick to it — whether that is RM50, RM200, or any amount that fits comfortably within your disposable income.
You play for entertainment, not to recover losses from a previous session. Each session is a fresh, independent activity.
You can stop and walk away — whether you are up or down — without feeling a compulsion to keep going.
Gambling does not affect your sleep, relationships, work performance, or financial obligations.
You are honest with people close to you about your gambling activity and its scale.
You take regular breaks and enjoy other activities — football, family time, travel — without feeling pulled back to gambling prematurely.

Tools Available to Every rmc8 Member

All of the following tools are self-service — accessible from your account dashboard without needing to contact support.

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly, or monthly deposit ceiling directly from your account settings. Once a limit is set, it takes effect immediately and cannot be increased for at least 24 hours — protecting against impulsive changes during a session.

Session Time Reminders

Configure a session duration reminder at any interval — 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours. When the timer expires, you receive a clear prompt to review your activity and decide consciously whether to continue.

Loss Limits

Set a maximum net loss threshold per day, week, or month. When your losses reach the cap, wagering is automatically paused until the period resets. Loss limits are processed in real time — there is no delay.

Cooling-Off Period

Need a short break without full exclusion? Activate a cooling-off period of 24 hours, 48 hours, or 7 days. During this time your account is suspended from all real-money activity. The cooling-off cannot be reversed once activated.

Self-Exclusion

Request self-exclusion for a defined period — 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, or permanent. Exclusion takes effect immediately. Reinstatement requests are subject to a mandatory cooling-off period and a wellbeing check.

Activity History

Review a full history of your bets, wins, losses, session durations, and deposits at any time. Transparent access to your own data is one of the most effective tools for honest self-assessment. The full record is available under Account > History.

How Deposit Limits Work

Deposit limits are one of the most effective responsible gambling tools available. They create a hard ceiling on how much real money can enter your account within a given time period — regardless of how you feel in the moment.

To set or adjust limits on your rmc8 account, go to Account Settings > Responsible Gambling > Deposit Limits. Choose your period (daily, weekly, or monthly), enter your preferred ceiling in MYR, and confirm. The new limit is active within seconds.

Reducing a limit is immediate. Increasing a limit requires a 24-hour review period before it takes effect — a deliberate friction that protects against in-session impulse decisions.

Practical tip: Set your monthly deposit limit to no more than 5% of your monthly take-home income. This ensures that even a worst-case month at the tables remains well within manageable financial territory.

Example Deposit Limit Configuration (Illustrative)
Daily
RM 100 / day
Weekly
RM 500 / week
Monthly
RM 1,500 / month

The figures above are illustrative examples only. You choose your own limits based on your personal budget. rmc8 does not set minimum limit thresholds — any limit you set is accepted. rmc8 also does not send limit change notifications to third parties.

How to Self-Exclude from rmc8

Self-exclusion is a powerful step. It means rmc8 will block your account from all real-money gambling activity for the period you choose. The process takes less than two minutes and is available 24/7.

1
Log In to Your Account

Access your rmc8 member dashboard from your phone or browser. You do not need to contact support first — the tool is entirely self-service.

2
Navigate to Responsible Gambling Settings

From your account menu, select Account Settings > Responsible Gambling. You will see all available tools — deposit limits, session reminders, and self-exclusion.

3
Choose Your Exclusion Period

Select from 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, or permanent exclusion. If you are unsure, our support team can discuss the options with you — no judgement, no pressure.

4
Confirm Your Request

Confirm the exclusion. Your account is suspended from real-money activity within seconds. You will receive a confirmation email to your registered address.

5
Reinstatement (When Ready)

When your exclusion period ends, reinstatement is not automatic. You must submit a reinstatement request, which is subject to a cooling-off review and a brief wellbeing check by our team before access is restored.

Self-Assessment — Know Your Relationship with Gambling

Answer these questions honestly. If you find yourself saying "yes" to two or more of them, it may be time to use the tools available or speak to someone.

1
Have you ever bet more than you intended to, or chased losses to try to win back money you have lost?
2
Do you find it difficult to stop gambling once you have started, even when you have reached your budget?
3
Have you neglected work, family, or other responsibilities because of time spent gambling?
4
Have you borrowed money, sold possessions, or used funds set aside for bills or rent to fund gambling?
5
Do you feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you try to reduce or stop gambling?
6
Have you hidden your gambling activity from family members or close friends?
7
Do you gamble as a way to escape worries, relieve stress, or improve a low mood?
8
Have you tried to cut down on gambling before but found it difficult to sustain?

If you answered yes to any of the above: you are not alone, and acknowledging this is the first step. Use the self-exclusion or deposit-limit tools on your rmc8 dashboard right now, or reach out to the support resources listed below. Speaking to someone makes a difference — and it is always confidential.

Recognising Problem Gambling — Warning Signs

Problem gambling rarely announces itself clearly. It develops gradually. These are the signs to watch for in yourself or someone you care about.

Behavioural Warning Signs

Spending increasing amounts of time and money on gambling, with sessions getting longer over time.
Chasing losses — returning to gamble specifically to recover money lost in a previous session.
Lying to family members or employers about the amount of time or money spent on gambling.
Prioritising gambling over meals, sleep, exercise, social events, or family time.
Using gambling as the primary way to relax, celebrate, or manage negative emotions.

Financial & Emotional Warning Signs

Missing bill payments, rent, or loan repayments because funds were used for gambling.
Borrowing money from friends or family without disclosing it was intended for gambling.
Feeling a persistent sense of guilt, shame, or anxiety directly related to gambling activity.
Feeling restless, irritable, or unable to concentrate when unable to access gambling for a period.
Making multiple unsuccessful attempts to reduce or stop gambling, despite wanting to do so.

If you recognise these signs in yourself or someone close to you: please use rmc8's self-exclusion tool immediately and reach out to one of the support organisations listed below. There is no shame in seeking help — problem gambling is a recognised condition and effective support is available.

The 21+ Age Policy — Non-Negotiable at rmc8

rmc8 maintains a strict minimum age requirement of 21 years for all registered members. This is higher than the legal adult age threshold in Malaysia and reflects our commitment to protecting young people from the potential harms of gambling.

Age verification is not optional or deferred — it is completed as part of the KYC process that every account must pass before any withdrawal can be processed. Government-issued photo identification (NRIC for Malaysian residents) confirming age is a mandatory requirement.

Where rmc8 identifies or has credible reason to believe that an account holder is under 21, the account is suspended immediately, all active bets voided, and the matter escalated for investigation. Any deposits made by a player confirmed to be underage are managed in accordance with our Terms & Conditions and the applicable requirements of our operating licence.

Parents and guardians: if you suspect that a minor is accessing gambling sites, please contact our support team immediately and consider using parental control software on shared devices. We take these reports seriously and will act swiftly.

Our Pledge to Players Across Malaysia

We will never pressure you to gamble more

rmc8 does not use manipulative marketing tactics, artificial urgency, or personalised pressure campaigns to encourage members to increase their stakes or frequency of play.

We will respect your limits

Deposit limits, loss limits, and self-exclusion requests are processed with no friction and no attempt to talk you out of them. These are your decisions, and we respect them completely.

We will proactively monitor at-risk patterns

rmc8's operations team monitors for patterns associated with problem gambling — extended sessions, escalating stakes, and repeated loss-chasing. Members exhibiting these patterns may receive a proactive wellbeing check from our team.

We will connect you with help when it is needed

Our support team is trained to recognise members who may be struggling and to provide information about appropriate support resources — including Talian Kasih 15999 and Befrienders KL — without judgement.
